Maternity Hospitals in York through the Ages - part of York Unlocked Festival

On Saturday 3rd October, the Society opened its doors for York Unlocked and displayed “Maternity Hospitals in York through the Ages”. The exhibition has brought together material on the history of maternity care in York, including photographs relating to Fulford and Acomb maternity hospitals.

Thank you to everyone who donated cakes, helped welcome visitors, and worked tirelessly all day to serve the vast number of teas, coffees and cakes. We had so many cakes on the day and amazingly we sold most of them as we had an incredible number of visitors through the door- 628!

£624 was raised from the sales. This will go to the President’s local charity, ‘The Millie Wright Children’s Charity’.
